IoT a simple explanation

ioi
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects—devices, vehicles, buildings and other items—embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity that enables these objects to collect and exchange data.
IP address space is necessary to be increased because with existing IPV4’s is limited and it would not be enough to handle all data that will be generated with IoT applications so IPv6’s would be used because it produce a huge increase in address space is an important factor in the development of the Internet of Things. An increase in the number of smart nodes, as well as the amount of upstream data the nodes generate, is expected to raise new concerns about data privacy, data sovereignty and security.
Practical applications of IoT technology can be found in many industries today, including Media, Environmental monitoring, Infrastructure management, Manufacturing, Energy management, Building and home automation, Transportation, and Large scale deployments.
